Dr. Robert E. Ervin, Th. D. - Ph. D.
Dr. Robert Ervin grew up in NE Arkansas where he also attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Subsequently, he relocated to the Chicago area where he met and married his wife of 44 years, Cindy. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. In 1974, Dr. Ervin began his employment at Ford Motor Company – Ford Parts and Service division as a financial analyst. In 1993 after 19 years at Ford, he transferred to McDonough, GA where he worked another 11 years and retired as the financial controller of that Ford Parts Facility.
Dr. Ervin taught and served in a lay capacity as a Pastor / Teacher / Disciple Maker for 26 years before starting his formal ministry training at Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary (IBTS) in 1999. He holds a Th.B., Th.M and a Th.D. — Ph.D. from IBTS. He has taught there in some capacity since 2004. Dr. Ervin is currently the Senior Professor of Advanced Theology, Bible and Biblical Interpretation at IBTS.
Since 2008, Dr. Ervin has been a Disciple Building / Bible Teacher for an international — non-profit organization, Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) based in Fayetteville, GA. Since 2004, he has also served on the Board of Directors for an international non-profit — humanitarian organization, Global Partners in Life (GPiL). He is an ordained Minister of the Gospel and serves as an Elder in his home church of 25 years, Dogwood Church, Tyrone, GA.
